Seen from the morraine on the right bank of the Glacier des Amethystes, high above the Argentière Glacier. Looking directly at the the North East Spur of the East summit, the Classic route on the North Face can be seen on the ice encrusted right flank. Massive avalanches rumbled down these steep faces all morning as everything softened around us in the warm sunshine.
