nw brushfest  Sucess!

This route is very brushy in the summer and after it rains becomes very exciting with slippery logs and mossy rocks. Dropped off the ridge at 4700 feet to the east side and followed boulder slopes and drainage back to the creek crossing.

Northwest Ridge  Sucess!

Went up the trail about 500' before starting up, then closely paralleled the creek on the north side. Relatively brush free until crossing to the south side of the creek. Route was easy to follow on the way up (2.5 hours). Was feeling pretty proud of myself for staying on route on the way down, then got off course at about 3200'. Not a big deal, just resulted in a little extra brush bashing (1.5 hours coming down). I would recommend a few GPS "breadcrumbs" between 2800' and 3700' to assist on the way down. Great views for a 5600' peak.
