None that I know of. However, I can make a reasonable guess. This rock is so much fun to climb on, with all the routes being very moderate on solid granite, that the local climbers thought it would get very crowded by out of town climbers. But, there are so many rock formations on the foothills of the Sierras that not too many people wanted to take the long drive to a very dry area to climb on Locals Only Rock.

With something like this rock anywhere within a ten mile drive of my house would have been nothing short of fantastic.
