Hounds Tooth

What is the approach like for the Hounds Tooth? Did you start from Ferguson Canyon?

Re: Hounds Tooth

There are a couple approaches, "Hiking the Wasatch" claims heading up the ridge directly above Top of the World Drive. I ended up using Ferguson. While heading up to Storm Mountain the week before through Ferguson, I noticed a north aspect gulley just to the west of Hounds Tooth about mid-way up Ferguson. I used the old snow-shoes on the lower portion of this gulley, once getting higher up it the grade is a bit more steep where I kicked steps to the ridge for about 100 vertical feet or so. Once at the ridge it was a quick trip over to Hounds. There is a small amount of class III on its east side to the top. Great vantage point of the Wasatch Front from that point!
