Couple of trail/trailhead updates

All three trailheads are open.

Cherry Canyon trail was exquisite. Just a really nice trail. Highly recommend it. There was pretty good cairns all the way to the top, and I found following them resulted in a nice climb.

Coming down, I used the trail between the S side of the cirque and 2nd hamongog. It was fun to jog down the dry granite surface polished by the spring. But between the Cirque and the top of the spring (and to find the spring) some route finding is required.

The "2nd Hamongog trail", which runs between Jacobs Ladder and the 2nd Hamongog, was all but impassable. Don't use it unless you are absolutely forced to. A brutal assault of dense scrub oak forest trying to take back its own.

Hiking this in September at 6:00am was perfect. Highly recommend.

easier route

Can someone confirm my conclusion: For someone squeemish about exposure, the ridge from South summit to North summit appears to be much shorter that the ridge to North summit from northern side of the Cirque - ?? Not so much me, but my wife that is concerned about the exposure. I think a shorter ridge with whatever exposure is better than a longer ridge with mild exposure. Thoughts? Looking to summit in the next couple weeks. Your input is appreciated.
