Pilot and index

I believe that is pilot(right) and index(left) peaks of wyoming. Thats cool because i have pictures atop granite that you can see those two peaks in also... Its neat how everything ties together when you are on top of everything...

He's right

This is Pilot and Index with a long lens or a lot of digital zoom. Pilot loses its needle appearance from this northerly angle.

As said, Pilot and Index

Note that Pilot and Index Mtns top 2000 vertical feet is volcanic debris from the Yellowstone volcano. Only the base of these peaks is layered Limestone. That is an impressive thickness of lava/debris. Compare that thickness to the heavy dusting of ash in Missoula from Mt St. Helens, or note that Crater Lake in Oregon left 1 foot of ash south of Townsend Montana. So in all reality Bozeman and the circumference surrounding Yellowstone would be truly buried.
