Long-nosed Leopard Lizard

Long-nosed Leopard Lizard

A male Long-nosed Leopard Lizard (Gambelia wislizenii) near the Robledo Range by Radium Springs, New Mexico. Unlike their Collared Lizard cousins, they don't hunt from high on a rock, but instead lay low waiting for their prey. They are also capable of dramatically changing their color to blend with the environment. Photo taken 6/2/07.
