Looking back towards...

Looking back towards magnificent Mont Blanc (4807m) and Vallot refuge (4362m) from Col du Dome (4260m) on the descent via Gouter route. Return from Mont Blanc gives you special feeling and joy. You know you've been up there, suffering is over and amazing vistas all around are perfect reward! For the first timer everything in new because on the way up, till Valot refuge, it was dark and all you could see was beautiful string of slow moving head lamps. August 2002. Photo: Aleksandar Gospic

I have nice memories...

seeing your photo and reading your caption. When I descended from the summit in August 2000 I had the same feelings as you but wanted more emotions, so I ascended to the broad summit of Dome du Goûter wich is really near the Mont Blanc trail

Re: I have nice memories...

Thanks Diego! Yes, it is really nice bonus after Mont Blanc but we didn't have time because we were quite late on the summit. It was such an amazing day that we stayed up there over an hour and had to catch the last train from Nid d'Aigle. When you see how deep below Chamonix is it’s hard to believe that by night you'll be drinking beer while relaxing on the terrace of some nice bar down there and having a toast to magnificent Mont Blanc!
