Looking down on the east...
Looking down on the east basin ("The Great Basin") on Sept. 10, 1995. This is the basin often filled with snow that many a Seattleite has seen on a clear day (see this picture). There is a class 4 route up this side. The basin is accessed by continuing up the East Fork Lena Creek beyond where you make the turn off for the South Route.
