Re: Cool picrocks! just the color of rock on this particular mountain. Glacier's mountains are comprised of a wide array of incredibly old sedimentary rock, and you see a lot of interesting formations and colors throughout different areas of the park.

Re: Cool picyeah, kinda does. i think the broad, red saddle that "looks like an ancient road" is called Seward Saddle, and it's supposed to be a nice spot.

Re: GeezA long way indeed. ManyGlacierMountaineer (Sean Doyle) hiked out towards Gable in August of 2013 to scout possible routes to Gable. From every vantage point I've seen of the Seward-Gable ridge (namely from Elizabeth Lake, the ridge to Yellow Mountain and from Otokomi Lake) it looks extremely challenging and may not be possible.
