Wrong SpotMisha, I think this picture is taken from the ridge of the High Peaks area looking south over Bear Gulch Reservior. North Chalone peak is a couple of miles south of the reservior. You can see the trail to North Chalone on the far side of the reservior. Still a nice picture.

Re: Wrong SpotDan, I stand by my location. This is definitely not taken from the High Peaks area. I took it with my zoom camera as we reached the ridge on the way to North Chalone Peak, probably 70% into the hike. The High Peaks area begins on the left of this photo. The Bear Gulch trail is in the center. You follow it to the top of the photo and beyond to get back to the Eastern park entrance. I can bet $$ on it :)

Re: Wrong SpotFew more pointers:
- Right behind the reservoir is the Tiburcio's X formation (see my other photos)
- Rocks on the right of the photo are Sisters
- I believe that the trail that you are seeing in front of the reservoir (going right) is a climbers trail to reach the base of Sisters
- The trail to North Chalone Peak is not seen here. It starts at the closest (to the camera) side of the reservoir and hides in the green canyon on the bottom of the photo

Re: Wrong SpotOops. Sorry Misha. I was turned around. I thought the dam and Bear Gulch Caves were on the left. Upon closer inspection I see my mistake. The trail is the climbers trail and the start of the High Peaks Trail continuing off left. I see the climbers on Tiburcios X formation. I'll pay better attention next time. 30 lashes for me. :-p
