Looking west down the Draper Ridge near Enniss Peak.

Decided to check out the Cherry Canyon Logging trail and Enniss Peak for the first time. A nice 4,540 vertical feet, a good portion of it on snowshoes was ascended to the small peak. Much thanks to Moogie737 here on SP for breaking trail a few days ago! This photo is looking west down the ridge, and out over the south portion of the Salt Lake Valley and the Oquirrh Mountains. The snow conditions was sloppy and wet down lower, powder up higher. The wind was relentless much of the way, averaging what seemed 30 mph. The top 300+ vertical feet of Enniss Peak were in the clouds this day. I ended up tossing on the snowshoes on the approach about 1,200 feet up from the Orson Smith trail head and used them for the rest of the way. Views of Lone Peak and the cirque were obliterated by clouds... 1-26-2012.
