Decent way to spend a weekday afternoon
Via the Canyon and Los Pinetos trails. Apparently the summit has become a popular Generation Y/Z epitaph? The oaks south of the aforementioned trail junction are fire-charred, but look to be regenerating. Views of Mojave clouds were more interesting than the actual landscape...

couple of timesOut of Placerita Nature Center; easy trail and fire roads. Beautiful area along the Western edge of the San Gabriel Mountains.
