The first time I attempted N Thunder I didn't make it either. We had planned to do Bells Cleaver and N Thunder but it took so long to route find to the top of Bells Cleaver we knew we weren't going any farther.
Thanks for your understanding, haha. From reading the other TRs, it seems very common for people not to make it on their first attempt, especially if it's also their first time in Bells Canyon. After I posted this, I noticed your TR from your recent success up there: congratulations! It almost seems it would be easier in the winter, is that right? (less bushwhacking and boulder-hopping, and a faster descent) I was drooling over your photos wishing I was up there with my skis.
It is certainly less frustrating in the winter as the snow smooths everything over. With several trail breakers, a nice day, and somewhat consolidated snow I think it would be easier than in the summer. With very consolidated snow I think it would be much easier.
