Near Pietrarubbia we deterred a bit on a side road to see the unusual rock formations nearby. There is a fairy tale that a giant was disobeying gods who stroke him with a lightning. He couldn't get out of the hole in the ground, only his thimb is nowadays seen, pointing towards the sky. Behind the rock are the slopes of Monte Carpegna. April 6th, 2010.
