Mala Basta (2274 m) seen from Mengusovska valley

Mala Basta (2274 m) seen from the floor o the Mengusovska valley (approx. 1550 m). One very lethal avalanche occured here in mid 1970s. 24 students were buried with the avalanche. For the cause of preventing mountaineers approaching chalet and mountain hotel at Popradske lake (1494 m) there was built new trail (now winter trail) off the avalanche danger.
