Great picture!How do you know it's a female? I thought females were supposed to have yellow heads. Either way, great pic Arthur. Birds are so much fun to watch.

Re: Great picture!Uh . . . "female" because of a typo in my guide book! It struck me as odd to see such a colorful "female" and I should have double-checked my other guidebooks at home. Thanks for asking. (blush)

I was fortunate enoughto see a Summer Tanager here in Arizona
feeding on honeybees near some beehive boxes.
The tanager I saw was completely red, so would that make it male or female?
Does anybody have an Audubon book I can borrow ??? ??
