Mark on top of Mont Blanc

Mark on top of Mont Blanc

For the second day in a row, Mark and I 'summited' Mont Blanc. But while yesterday we had to ascend 1700m to get there, today it was less than 10m: we had spent the night almost on the top. Les Grandes Jorasses are in the background, on the far left. And far away in the distance are many of the famous Swiss mountains, including the distinctly pointy Matterhorn, and, just above Mark's ice axe, the Monte Rosa group, where we had just spent a great week of climbing in order to get acclimatized for our bivvy at 4800m. 11 July 2013.
