MARTINSWAND

Hi ! The Martinswand is extremely and excessively impressive to approach and to visit ! But the danger is always present ... The height of the rock is terrifying and the vegetation very wild, savage ... The site is situated at the remarkable altitude of 1220 meters (on the top) and the panorama from thereover is unforgettable, exceptionnal, falling deeply and dangerously, in the Wormsa valley, the villages of Ampfersbach, Metzeral, Stosswihr and Munster ! Equally, the alsacian plain and the chain of the Black Forest are visible. Deep under the rock, you can find the ice-circus of Frankental (natural reserve). Face-to-face, the massive and legendar summit of the Hohneck is dominating, with 1366 meters of height ! Be cautious, because the peregrine falcon can been breeding and nesting here (it's not sure, but we don't know ... ). Thanx again, for this very beautiful topic !
