my topo map shows a trail route that is far from a direct line from Matterhorn TH. It computes to 11 miles one-way. This trip report shows 11 round trip. I'd like to go from Matterhorn as I think the road to the TH might not be as rugged as Nellie Creek. But I don't want to end up with 20+ miles of hiking.
Does anyone have info on the comparison of the roads and taking a direct route from Matterhorn to Uncomp?
