Hey om!

Great photo! Can I aks you something? Do you know any mountains and also which is the group name of the mountains in the nearness of skiing area Valmeinier? I am asking you because I know you are expert for French Alps! :-) I am going to spend a week there and I am interesting about the mountains there!

Cheers!

Re: Hey om!

Valmeinier is in southern Savoy, in the middle of Vanoise massif and Oisans Massif. The main river here is the Arc. Arc valley is named Maurienne. Valmeinier is close to Valloire and Galibier pass.

Known mountains here are :

South: Roche Noire 3067m, Mont Thabord 3167m, Grand Galibier 3228m, Briançonnais mountains and Névache valley.

South west : La Meije 3986m

West: the 3 Aiguilles d'Arves : 3510m

North : La Dent Parachée : 3697m

Cheers,

Olivier

Re: Hey om!

Unfortunately, most of these mountains do not have Sp page yet.

Re: Hey om!

Hi!

I am back from France and I have one question! In which group would you put Roche Noire and Les Aiguilles d`Arves? I will do the pages so that I know. :-)

Thanks!

Great photos on time !

Thank you so much for publicing these detailed photos. It is funny that I have been searching for a long time for more info about this magnificent face and a friend of mine has just pointed to me this NEW stuff only a few days before I am eventually able to go.

With 2-3 friends we are planning to be up there in a week time; Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaa !

We do have a route discription in addtion but your photos illustrate very clearly the scale, geometry and difficulties of Schmid's route.

It would be nice to add more information about the route and if you have done it yourself you could draw

carefully the route line on the photos :o)

All the best

Akridas
