Re: Well done! Thanks! I saw Elbrus is on your wish-list for the forthcoming years. I can recommend it - it's a great experience, if the conditions are o.k. - especially the sunrise: if you see Ushba and the main caucasus ridge, the shadow of elbrus and so on you just think: "That's why I go climbing!"

Herbert

Re: Well done!;-)
I´am thinking about climbing by ski. Have you done this trip on your own or with a climbing-organizer? Sebastian

Re: Well done!I did it with Amical, because for Russia it is easier and cheaper to use a tour-operator, than to handle everything on your own (e.g. the necessary visa, flights, transfer). Herbert

Re: Well done!Congratulations!
Is it cheaper by skiing or by feet?
Was Amical the cheapest operator or just the best?

Re: Well done!Thanks.
As far as I know, there is no cost-difference between ski-ascent and the traditional way.
Amical is not the cheapest offer (although they are not expensive), but they have a very good reputation - and this turned out to be true in all aspects.

Herbert

Re: Well done!Only the name... So I've no experience with them nor I know someone who has. For organizing their international trips they seem to work together with "Verkehrsbüro", which should be a fairly good choice.
