A nice little piece of montaineering history.
One thing puzzles me though. Mittelhorn, as I understand it, a secondary summit is higher than the official summit?
Wetterhorn 3701m vs. Mittelhorn 3704m.
The Mittlehorn is not very prominent, just about 200 meters above the saddle and not at as spectacular as the Wetterhorn is from the north. I guess this is the reason for calling the Wetterhorn the main summit.
Besides being interesting, both a quality page and about the Alps, it goes well (and neck and neck:)) with my Carpathians page, which surely makes me smile. :D
