We got stormed off Saturday over the crux section, had to downclimb it in graupel. Then Sunday we went back and were successful on a gorgeous bluebird day with no clouds. Stiff grunt and lots of loose rock make this one tougher than the stats. With Kevin and Sarah.

what a scree fest!
I took the "Iron Mountain trail" in, which I already knew from exploring it last year (S 6) and ascended the last grass patch (the most eastern one) on Mears as high as I could. Then I was traversing east and up along the cliffs, I did not take the easiest route up - I would rate mine as 3+, but eventually made it to the ridge. From there it was easy to go up towards the summit.
The traverse to S 7 took a while.
