Got to love Wyoming. Great scenery, not a whole lot of people, did the loop, cooked up some food. Great day!
Under three hours including a nice lunch near the summit for this great loop beginning and ending at Lake Marie TH.
Went up from Lewis lake picnic area and loved the hike. I was about the 3rd to summit on this day but on the way down I met a couple dozen on their way up. This is a popular area.
First time in the Snowy range and the route from East Marie Lake was really a beautiful trail to the peak.
went up to get out of the smoke, and to view the smoke. Sad for all who have lost their homes. Looks like a huge fire. Perfect day, some snow in spots, Harley the dog had fun....Austin Huff, Tyler Renner, two East CC runners.
With Eve and Cathy...blue bird day with (gasp!)...no wind!
A little chilly but nice clear skies at the top. Headed up and over the Carbon County highpoint on the way up by accident.
Great Day with my buddy back on military leave. Perfect climbing weather.
This was a bad weather day but I quickly snuck up the mtn as best as I could. I also tagged the nearby COHP liner. Very pretty area.
Hiked from the West Lake Marie trailhead. Absolutely beautiful hike...spectacular views all along the route to the top. Once we crossed the boulder filed along the back of the summit, there wasn't much to enjoy. The views from the summit may not have been worth the work to get to the top! We looped around and were essentially chased from the ridge by an oncoming thunderhead...running down the mountain was actually quite exhilarating and the path was well maintained. :)
A 6-mile circuit from the west Lake Marie trailhead. Still feet of snow in many places up there. What a beautiful area!
Climbed as soon as the snow cleared. Easy access and a high elevation starting point make this an easy 12,000 summit. Great views. Colorado don't got nothing on WYO!
Great day, couldn't have asked for nicer weather.
Wow! What a pretty area. hiked up from Lake Marie and down Lakes Trail. It was a beautiful day and I couldn't move too fast on this one. It's not that it was a difficult hike. It was just too pretty to not stop and look around.
Can't drive this close to a 12,000 ft peak in Washington!
I camped out at Nash Fork with my friends Jamie & Oscar, and their two dogs, Booker & Hattie. We did a loop from West Lake Marie trailhead. It was very windy all day, and there were clouds moving through all day, but it did not rain. There weren't too many people on the trail. When we got down from the mountain and down to the Lewis Lake/Lakes Trail junction, I climbed up Sugarloaf while Jaime & Oscar headed back to Lake Marie. I have been wanting to get up to the Snowy Range for a few years, and I am glad I did.
Great hike on a beautiful morning - I can't think of many places that get you above 12,000 feet so easily! I also bagged the Carbon County Highpoint just SW of the summit...
This was probably the 7th or 8th trip up. But it was the first time in about 18 years. It was also the first time for my daughter and the others in the party. The sky had a few scattered clouds but there was very little haze, so visibility was unlimited. Everyone thouroughly enjoyed the short trek.
We camped near this area before heading to CO and NM. There was a school of kids hiking it the same day - crowded trail, but Greg and I had the summit to our selves. Very scenic area.
