Car drive up to a bridge crossing the river Malta 100m in front of Gmuendner Hut.
Route Description
Crossing the Malta bridge an unsealed road begin and it takes You one hour to the Lower Melnik Alm, 2hours more to the treeline, then crossing the river Melnik Bach . A hut for hunters at the road end in front of the river. At a huge rock a very steep slope begin up to the lower Melnik Lake. There is no track but sometimes the trace for the cattle. Frome the treeline 2 hours hike to the lower lake, keep right . Two hours to the summit.
Essential Gear
Good shoes for the very long walk, unfortunately mountainbikes are prohibited.
