Neat shotWhen did you take this shot and from where? I climbed Goat Mtn this year but had no view from there due to clouds. I've got to go back and climb Mt. Margaret to see the volcano like you did in this shot.

Re: Neat shotThanks! Though you have to thank the user "mandrake" for the picture! He was the main reason I a) survived that trip and b) got some cool pictures from it.
The shot was taken on the perimeter trail of Mt. Margaret on the north-east side of Mt St Helens.
If you can't find the trail on your topo map, let me know, and I'll get mine out and send you the details.
As an FYI, we did the trip the first week in June and there was a ton of snow on top. Definately recommend bringing an ice axe with you if you plan on going up that early. Crampons may be excessive, but an ice axe is a must.

Re: Nice!Thank you for the compliments!
I went to grad school in Portland, Oregon, and lived there for about ten years before moving to Atlanta. I tromped around all of the NW, climbing Mt St Helens at least once every year (sometimes more than that), and pretty much did every perimeter trail that was in my area.
I really miss the skyline of the Pacific Northwest and need to visit again, soon.
