Well, according to our guide, we were on Mentok II when I decided to call it quits. It was clearly as far as he'd planned to take us despite the fact we were essentially on a pile of rocks on the col between I and II. Judging by various vlogs and reports from guided trips, it is a pretty common lie, so buyer beware. I suspect that they might not have actually bought a proper permit. Just speculation. The guide was happy to take Clay up the rest of the way.
