Mera River, a tributary of Volga, is named after the long-extinct Finno-Ugric tribe of what's become Russian hinterland now. Back in 1977, when this picture was taken, there weren't any vehicle bridges across Mera. The picture captures hauling a Russian Samovar across the footbridge
