Goat Lake approach
Had never been to Goat Lake so I came in that way. Gorgeous approach. Up north ridge, down west ridge and over to Carter. Climbed Merritt on my way out as well.

Double
We climbed Mickey's right after summiting Thompson. It was a little tricky finding the route just south of the summit ridge towers, but we made it safely. Thanks for the good beta, SawtoothSean!

Big Loop
Excellent day of adventures with SawtoothSean. Felt more like October than August, with a big snow squall on the summit of Thompson. Started with Thompson, then traversed to Mickey’s Spire, then some wild rappels on our way to climb Anna’s Pinnacle. Long descent down Fishhook Creek, needed headlamps for the last couple miles of trail. Trip Report

Summit ridge
Combined with Thompson and Carter, this made a good day out with this summit possibly the highlight.

Route Climbed: XC thru Goat cirque to N ridge Date Climbed: July 2004
Did from Iron Cr TH to Goat Lake and XC up through the cirque to Thompson-Williams saddle. Then finish by standard class 2/3 route up N ridge. Absolutely spectacular views of Horstmann's N face and all the southern jagged Sawtooth peaks. Better views than from Thompson. Went down Thompson-Williams headwall to alpine way. Then took alpine way trail back to Iron Cr. TH and on the way passed through herd of bugling elk, really cool. Whole day was a knee-knocking ~17 miles / 5,000 ft. vertical.
Route Climbed: Summit Ridge Date Climbed: July 24, 2005
Did a cicrcuit scramble / trail run that included the summits of: Williams, Thompson, Carter, Mickey's, and Carter. Mickey's Spire was the toughest part and the most dramatic.

After Thompson, which wasn't enough...A pretty quick scramble to this summit after summitting Thompson. The views from the top were arguably better than from Thompson - 360 degrees!
