Minor Obstacle

This little snow field was encountered on my way down from the Hupfleitenjoch (Hupfleiten saddle) to the Hoellental (Hell's Canyon). Although it was easy to traverse one had to be very careful because of the several hundred feet long steep slope down. Picture taken in 1994.

We're all glad you were able to "surmount"
the ODDS, and make it back to CA in one piece!!

You'd definitely had failed; if you had not
been wearing hiking boots for added traction!

Flip-flops would be out of the question. :)

Yes, I was glad that I had my good traction hiking boots. In any case it was before the whole trail running shoes frenzy surfaced. I was always most comfortable and felt most secure in my hiking boots. You know "boots were made for walking". Cheers.
