Mittelegi Hut

The old Mittelegi Hut sat astride the ridge of the same name. An Ascent of the Mittelegi Ridge is an odyssey which starts on the Junfraujoch train. After exiting inside the mountain one exits the tunnel, raps down to the Eigerglacier, crosses to the base of the ridge and ascends 5.7 rock to the hut.

Nice photo of old hut

But, you are a bit behind the times. This hut is no longer on the ridge - it has been replaced. And, there is now a guardian during the high climbing season.

That's me. Behind the times. Seriously. I thought the old hut made for a pretty nice bivy, considering its location. Don't expect to get up there again to see its replacement. Thanks for the update.
