Mollie's Nipple

On our way to Powell Point, we did a loop of the rough dirt roads found in the Escalante-Staircase National Monument, first going south from Kodacrome Basin State Park to highway 89 via Cottonwood Canyon, 40 something miles that took us over two hours to negotiate. In that time we did not see another vehicle as the road is 4WD and nasty in many places. Then off of highway 89, we spied Mollie's Nipple, a rocky peak we had seen from Canaan Peak the day before. More info on Mollie's Nipple HERE. We didn't have the time needed to do Mollie's and we went on into Kanab for gas. Then it was back up Johnson Canyon which is paved for the first 16 miles before turning to dirt road again in the National Monument via the Skutapah road, another long stretch with some very rough spots before we hit pavement again near Cannonville.
