I did Mondoto and enjoyed the views a lot too !

Re: greatHi. I've not seen the spelling with the Ó. I am constantly "bemused" by the wide variety of names and spellings of these peaks. I will add the ó as it makes it --- an even more intriguing name.
There are suppposed to be many legends about Mondotó but I have yet to find a source (all in Spanish) that I want to translate for SP.
We did Sestrales - actually, we only got as far as "Bajos" because we hadn't calculated the time/length of route and it was a *** hot day. A few years ago from San Úrbez.
I'll check out your Sestrales page now.
How's the niñ@ - or as they say here, the cria? I hope they are better.

Re: greatWe the french are also very often bemused by the variety of spellings you have in your country. I believe there are spellings in Castillan, in Aragonese, in Catalan, and perhaps few local dialects. Certainly in a lot of cases, I believe cartographs took the names from the prononciation of locals, without being too sure of the spellings (if there were any !), which results in the wide variety of names we get ! :)
Niño is better, still caughing but he's tough so I believe he'll be healthy soon !

And why doesn't Aneto have two names??

Oh, and talking about Pyrenees peaks with two names, did you ever hear the aragonese traditional name of the Vignemale massif? It's "Comachibosa"

Good job, ojoIf anything, let me make a silly comment: in the route outline section the rock pavements should be "lapiaz". "Lapiz" is still a pencil in spanish... :)

thanks... for that about lapiaz! I didn't know that about Néthou --- I've never seen the name before. Is it an old one, 'cos the French don't use it any more? Or just that it has existed for a very long time..? :)
