Monks at the Potala. April...

Monks at the Potala. April 2003. The wimsy of this shot always makes me crack up. Notice the hammer and feet at the bottom of the photo...never noticed this in the composition until the photo was developed. Prior to taking this picture these monks were just milling around chatting among themselves until our group came around the corner. Then they quickly went to their chairs and started reading. I sprung to the balcony and took this shot.

Great shot!

Thanks for posting your photo - I love it. Took some similar myself. These young monks are a hoot!! Never really expected to see a humorous side to them.

Cool shot !

We also had the chance to laugh a lot after vising a ceremony at Tengboche. In fact we found lots of the Nepali people have fun when their daywork allows.
