Approach


from 395 turn west at toms place and drive up rock creek canyon past rock creek lake all the way to the roads end at mosquito flat trailhead.

Route Description


Start hiking up the signed mono pass trail. This is a beautiful hike gaining elevation with each step. Awesome views are seen looking down on the little lakes valley. Lots of lakes and epic alpine beauty is all around. Once you get to the top of the pass take a break and enjoy the view. Go off trail towards the slope on your right. Scramble to the top and find the highest rocks. Kick back and enjoy the High Sierra beauty!! This hike is roughly around 8 or 9 miles round trip. This hike should take between half a day and 3/4 of a day.

Essential Gear


You should take all the normal gear on this hike ( water, food,windbreaker. ext....) early in the season you might need a ice axe and crampons if you do the hike when there is lots of snow around.
