No wine and the cheese had already been eaten by the time we reached the summit. Since we had climbed 1600m of elevation (a mile) and had to return the same way, wine definitely was out of the question. I spared that for after hours :-)
Actually they grow a good wine on La Palma. Nothing exceptional but good enough. The vinyards look something like this
On neighbouring Lanzarote their even crazier since they buid little walls around each grapewine to keep off the wind ...
