Took the stairs up with my 3-year-old, 8-month-old and husband. 14th summit for our 3-year-old!!

A two-timer
This was my first summit in a National Park. Only the tip-tops of the mountains vaguely showed through a layer of October fog, but I was hooked. Felt like the Himalayas to my tender soul.
Went back on an afternoon in 2009, after my belt had considerably broadened, and was aghast at the smog. Am counting that ascent as my climb date, though, as you could actually *see* something...

Winter Gets Icy
As one would expect lots of slippery ice the whole way up. It was great seeing the mountains up the valley covered in snow. If you've only been to Sequoia in the summer you're doing it wrong. Hear me out, the sequoias blanketed in fresh snow is a sight to behold.

Stairs
Memorial day weekend so the park was packed. The views at the summit were amazing, and the summit steward was great as well. This is well worth the short walk even if you only want to see the big trees.

the bear, the bear..
Nice hike up from the road. Breezy and sunny weather made for an enjoyable view from all sides. Saw a family of bears on the way out.

Via the Trail/Stairs
I feel a little cheesy signing the Climber's Log for taking the trail to Moro Rock. But it was part of a long, ~12-mile loop hike from the General Sherman Tree to most of the highlights of the Giant Forest (e.g., Washington Tree, Huckleberry Meadow, Crescent Meadow). So I'm gonna count it.

Nice little stroll
Took the easy way to the top while passing through the park after a backpacking trip. Need to go back sometime; I remember it being smoky and hazy when I was there.

Hazy July Day
Great climb to the top. A little hazy from the smog on the west side but great views all around, still.
Many times since 1975. Inspired many subsequent trips to the high country.

Family Trip
Visited Moro rock during a family camping trip. Hiked the stairs with my 19 month old in a baby carrier backpack. Made me realize I have not climbed in about 9 months. Gotta get back out soon.
CLIMBED THOSE STAIRS SEVERAL TIMES BUT NEVER TRIED IT WITHOUT THEM.

Lots of Stairs
The view was a bit more disappointing than I had hoped for (too much haze) but well worth the short climb up the stairs.

one of the best the southern sierras has to offer
pennies on the patio route is a necessity!!!! my favorite climb to date. most of the bolted sports routes on the east face are also worth climbing. south faces are for this spring, and the multi day pitches of west face are waiting for me this summer.... DO NOT pass this up.
