Complete whiteout  Sucess!

Out of all of the 54 Colorado 14ers, this was the most miserable day of all. Very cold, extremely strong winds and snow on top.

With Cronin  Sucess!

Antero seemed easy, so added Cronin (previously North Carbonate) to make it more interesting. Beautiful day!

Baldwin Gulch  Sucess!

Started from the 4wd parking area early, and had the summit all to myself. Road is boring but easy. Views are amazing, and couldn't have asked for a better day for the begining of October.

Raspberry Gulch  Sucess!

Amazing alternative at under 10 miles round trip. No trail above 10,500' which made for a long day. On the ridge the whole time above tree line which made for great vistas - particularly of Princeton and the Chalk Cliffs. Saw not a sole until near the summit. May put a route up at some point.

Screw the 4WD road  Sucess!

Little Browns Creek is the way to go. No one else on the trail. From treeline, scrambled up to Point 13,868, then took the ridge to Antero.

Standard route  Sucess!

Thank God for 4WD, which saved me a nasty stream crossing right before the upper trailhead. Nice day, but annoyingly windy on the ridge.

Started it all  Sucess!

Hiked from Baldwin Creek. Ascended the west gully. The snow kept me honest. This was my second time on top. The first time (2008) was by Jeep, and that was my first time above 14K feet. Now Mount Antero, look what you've done to me!

13.5 hrs of winter  Sucess!

attempted antero on the last full weekend of winter expecting an easy cruise up a well-beaten trail. a little more snow than i thought had fallen during the week, making trail breaking much more challenging than i bargained for. other climber caught up ~13,300' and i gladly used his steps the remainder of the way! #35/100 in winter, 21/53 14ers.

standard route-winter variation  Sucess!

Camped at 11750' right off the road near treeline. Climbed wind scoured talus and hard snow just south of the prominent gully seen from treeline. The ridge run was a bit of a wallow, but not bad. One of the coldest hikes I've done as the temp hovered in the low single digits all day. Continued on to White and Cronin and we were beat!

Standard Route  Sucess!

Brought a friend for his first 14er. Beautiful day and a good start to the summer 08. Not sure exactly what day.

West Ridge  Sucess!

Busted straight up the West Ridge from the second creek crossing, steep route but direct shot to the summit and it avoids the road. Traversed over to Mt White and then descended the road back to the car. Not too snowy for this time of year, the road was still dry until about 1/2 mile above the road split (11,000'). Second time up Antero.

Side trip up Antero  Sucess!

We never intended to summit, but we took the side trip from the $WD parking up this. A very easy Class 2 climb. Very enjoyable.

Perseids hike  Sucess!

Met up with a member of 14ers.com and set off from the 2WD trailhead shortly after midnight. We hiked slowly, stopping now and then to watch the perseids in the night sky. Summited around 5 AM and stayed for the sunrise.

Antero and White  Sucess!

Wife, dog and I. Wanted to escape the Fourth of July crowds so backpacked up Little Browns Creek. Goodness, what a beautiful hike. Only saw a handful of people on the summit, but saw a plethora hiking up the road. Headed over and tagged White. Highly recommend Little Brown Creek hike.
