Poet Philip Whalen spent the fire lookout season of 1953 at the Sauk Mountain lookout. It was removed by the U.S. Forest Circus in the 1980s.

Mount Baker, actually

Great shot, but any North Cascades lifer like me can tell you that it's Mt. Baker, not Mt. Shuksan.

Yes, but Mount Baker is right NEXT to Shuksan,
as the crow flies! :)

Yes, gotta love the old pilings of buildings
on tops of mountains. Makes me wonder ... is
an ASS considered to be a Circus Animal???
