Mount Baldy, Summit Sunset
Another monadnock of the Monashee Range, 7,557' Mount Baldy is located in British Columbia, Canada, just a few miles north of the U.S. border. The Mount Baldy Ski Area usually operates daily in the winter months with the main chairlift climbing up to 6,965’ ( http://skibaldy.com/ ). Fortunately the lift does not reach the mountain summit, thus allowing for great off-piste adventure.
In the above photo we are departing the summit as the western sun departs the winter sky. It will be a delightful and quiet powder descent to the base below. Nils and I have been skiing this mountain since the early 80’s and still delight in it’s simple pleasures.
