Missouri Gulch Belford/Oxford
I've got to confess this summit could take my 2009 award for Least Inspiring Summit. At any rate, it was nice to take a breather here before continuing on to Oxford. Partner: Deb.

Belford and Oxford
Wife, dog and I climbed the duo from Missouri Gulch. Great day except for the pricks that had the dog off leash that started a fight with my dog, but oh well, what do you expect!? Rained on us on the way out...
Nice climb! straight forward. My poor 12 year old dog was not happy on the decent.

my 2nd 14er
Did this one with Dirk Summers during my 1st week in Colorado since moving out. Decided that climbing was more immediately important than finding a place to live since I could crash at his place until I found a homestead. Done via Missouri gulch, with some sweet switchbacks right out of the trailhead, and then some nice creeks, an old log cabin, and finally beautiful alpine meadows with views of the snow of N faces of Missouri and Belford. Fairly quick climb for us, and enjoyed a couple 14er ESB beers on the summit to commemorate my 1st and 2nd CO 14ers. Also some beer waiting for us in the creek at dusk upon our return to the trail head. Another great day w/stunningly beautiful & cooperative weather for October in Colorado.
Climbed with Rkymtn, second time up this one. Trail conditions were good, not too much snow. Good boots and gaitors are all that you need, but you may want yaktrax or something to deal with the hardpacked snow. It was a bit too cold and windy to desire to head over to Oxford, so we headed back.

Climbed with chicagotransplant. It was clear, but blustery. The desire to hit Oxford was there, but the timing and conditions weren't. I hope to get back for both Oxford and Missouri.

Summited this peak on the way out as an after-thought after taging Missouri, Iowa & Emerald. A long day. 12.5 hours RT.
Climbed the standard route. Colours are pretty much at peak in Clear Creek/Missouri gulch. Nice climb, but the predictable crowd dissuaged us from following the pack over to Oxford. It'll probably be another two years before I contemplate another 14er.
