Trail was very crowded when i started at noon. A quick storm passed through when i reached blackmore lake and had to take shelter. took 4 1/2 hours round trip.
A long trail but not too strenuous. After breaking out of the forest we were surrounded by wildflowers. Despite a lone thunderstorm to the East we had great views. Mountains in all directions.
A good view
Simple enough of a trail, really cool views from the top especially if there's enough snow. Its like an ocean of mountains.
Solo from TH near Hyalite Reservoir. Great hike. Nothing complicated, unless forked trails near the beginning trip you up. Rained when I got to the summit.
Trail is starting to get pretty icy, microspikes or crampons probably a good idea until spring!
Cool area, totally overrun by tourists and unprepared locals (sorry, but hiking in shorts and t-shirts with a fanny pack for water just isn't prepared enough in high elevation). 10mi roundtrip, a couple fun glissades on the way out
With the snow finally gone, its an easy walk up the south ridge.
Beautiful ski descent.
Nice views. I love Montana!
Tagged Bole, scrambled down into a basin to tag Elephant, and then tagged Blackmore. Hiked out at Cottonwood. Not a bad day.
Pretty easy walk up the trail. Nice views. Plenty of people on the way up as our group headed down. Did in conjunction with Elephant. Looking forward to more time in the Gallatins again soon.
Skinned to the top via the East face...shredded a line down the east ridge to a chute which dropped the north face. Awesome line!
I topped out on Mt Blackmore during a family vacation to Storyhill Fest along the shores of Hyalite reservoir. Beautiful music, beautiful mountains!
Backpacked up to the bowl created by Blackmore, Elephant Mountain and saddle between. Tagged the summit the next day with my wife, 11 year old daughter and dog. Views to the south and west are incredible!
Nice approach and view of the Bozeman area from the top. Great view of the NE side of the range.
skied from the saddle, sketchy avy conditions, beautiful basin
Rode the North face after a spring storm- classic! Went with Shane and his hippy sticks. One of the best quick rides from Bozeman, have been back many times.
A great after work hike on a spectacular fall day. A few small patches of snow left from the weekend. Crazy Peak had a fresh coat of snow on its upper reaches.
