Route Climbed: Kite Lake Date Climbed: August 1997  Sucess!

Last 14er of the group to summit for this day. I actually had the summit to myself at this particular time despite there being alot of people 'up here' today.

Took the quick way down via the scree slopes back to the gulch, lake.

Route Climbed: East slopes Date Climbed: 7/20/03  Sucess!

Climbed with Ef on his first 14er. East slopes is pretty uneventful, easy hike. My 8th 14er.

Just me and my fellow Chicago "transplants" trying to sneak another peak before winter

Route Climbed: Kite Lake via Lincoln Date Climbed: Feb 15, 2005  Sucess!

Descending the gully to the west of this peak is quite nice if the snow is firm. Be sure to check it carefully before taking it. If it get's nasty, can probably find exposed rock to descend on the sides.

Route Climbed: Via Lincoln Date Climbed: September 17, 2005  Sucess!

After summiting Democrat, Cameron, & Lincoln, we went on to Bross and descended back to Kite Lake.

Route Climbed: Northeast Slopes Date Climbed: August 12th, 2003  Sucess!

A rather anticlimatic finish to the day as this summit proved to be a big fluke. For one, it wasn't really there and a pile of rocks was the only thing that set this flat piece of land a part from the rest of the scenery. I had quite a lot of fun establishing a new descent route from Bross towards Quartzville as finding a suitable trail that goes down that way without going through Lincoln proved least the weather was nice.

Route Climbed: Decalibron Date Climbed: 17 September, 2004  Sucess!

My second ascent. Did it in Sept. 1994, and came back with the family so that 1) my wife could complete the Decalibron, 2) my daughter could do the entire Decalibron with me, and 3) my granddaughter could get her first twofer. Every bit as delightful as I remembered, and got some excellent pictures.

Route Climbed: from Lincoln Date Climbed: July 19, 2004  Sucess!

I drove to the summit cairn the day before, but I had to hike up here to count it.

Route Climbed: From Lincoln Date Climbed: Septermber 24, 2005  Sucess!

Good hike. Very windy. For beginners that want to climb multiple mountains in one day, this is the hike. All four mountains in 4hrs 30min.

samajax - Sep 12, 2005 1:46 pm

Date Climbed: 7Sept04  Sucess!

All three from Kite Lake in white-out. Watch for trail climbing back down from Bross or you'll come down the scree and screw up the mountain some more. Rock skiing is fun, but if hundreds of us do it, the moutain suffers.

BeginnerClimber - Sep 6, 2005 7:25 pm

Route Climbed: Kite Late Date Climbed: 2 September 2005  Sucess!

Did the trifecta along with Democrat and Lincoln (quadfecta with Cameron too). Made the summit just as a group of folks with a hard-core very-driven paraplegic in a special bicycle made for climbing came around the last bend. Truly awesome! The trip down to Kite Lake was insane!! My tricks learned on Cameron Cone (skiing down the pebbles and loose rocks) were extremely helpful!

Route Climbed: Cameron/Lincoln Saddle Date Climbed: 2 September  Sucess!
