nice

This little gem deserves a page on summitpost. I would be interested to hear how you got up the summit boulder. I resorted to rope tricks.

Re: nice

What is the summit boulder rated?

Re: nice

I believe someone said that Gerry Roach rated the easiest route 5.9. I have climbed up to 5.10a elsewhere and I'm still not sure I could climb this without using rope tricks. The west side of the boulder is easiest; if you can get past the overhang it is a rather straightforward slab.

Re: nice

I re-visited this boulder with some climbing friends, a crash pad, and all the climbing gear that we could possibly need. After numerous attempts we used a dead tree to get us up the first part but we did successfully climb the last half. Careful, my rope was cut 1/2 through the core from the sharp rocks. My 60m rope is now a 58m rope :(

Thanks

for putting up this page, and giving me a chance to brag about one of my weirder accomplishments. Kudos for managing to climb it the way you did!

Re: Thanks

Thank you, glad you made it up there even with all that rotten rock. Standing on top of that huge thing certainly makes for some good pics.
