I was one of the idiots with Glenn that ran out of

water. It was, however, a good lesson. As I've

never run dry since...

Returned to the peak with a group of about 5. It was much warmer this time, and we all ran out of water on the way back. Very scary!

Route Climbed: Borderline Route Date Climbed: April 1995  Sucess!

First assault. Hiked all the way from the highway. Confirmed that Cury offers an excellent view of Frenchman Flat, and Mercury, as well as part of Yucca Flat.

The hike was much longer than I expected, and darkness fell as I headed back from the peak. I did not have a flashlight, and I didn't think I could manage Radar Hill in the darkness, so I deliberately intruded into the Restricted Area and circumvented Radar Hill by hiking down the the powerline road. I must have spent at least an hour inside the Restricted Area but didn't get caught.

Security patrols appeared to take an interest in me as I approached Cury, but they never left the Restricted Area.

I took a route well to the east of the border, which turned out to be a mistake, due to many deep ravines. I should have stayed closer to the border.
