Mount Everest first winter ascent - commemorative envelope

On 17 February 1980, a Polish expedition made the first successful winter ascent of Mount Everest. A commemorative envelope with special expedition cachet and bearing the signatures of the expedition leader, Andrzej Zawada, the driving force behind the idea of winter 8000-meter climbing, and the two summitters, Leszek Cichy and Krzysztof Wielicki.
