Good views of Victoria
Short, sometimes steep trail to the summit. Good views of Victoria Harbour in the distance, and of golf courses and housing developments next to the mountain. Sigh.

Nice Hike with Unexpected Toil
A satisfying and unexpectedly taxing intro for me to Vancouver Island hikes on my vacation this year. Sun was piercing today once above the transcendent, beautiful trees. I underestimated the amount of effort involved on the rocky top, and actually lost the well signed route for 100 feet downhill and had to come up and find it again.

great Victoria outing
I had a short cruise ship stop in Victoria so I rented a car and drove out to do this hike. Pretty area close to town. Hike is short but steep with a little scrambling on the way- good fun. Lots of people out on the hill.

First BC Hike
Great quickie hike to get ya moving! It's nice that this hike is easily accessible from the city, although I wish that the nearby housing development was not visible from the trail.
We did this hike last year a little after the salmon run had finished and the dead/dying salmon smelled like ass for the first mile or so. It's a nice easy little hike, though. Lovely day.

Great, strenuous hike on another beautiful day. TH to summit time was 45 minutes. Not bad for such elevation gain. Lots of company on the summit and lots of sun.

Date Climbed: August 2, 2004Hiked up with CharlesD. Steep and sustained but well worth it. The scrambling was fun and the view from the top very nice. We had perfect weather.
