Nice to see this here

Will you be putting up Magog, too? I wish I'd climbed it when I hiked to White Pine Lake back in 2002.

Re: Nice to see this here

I've climbed Mount Magog but it was many years ago. All of my photos are from my old film camera and are not very good quality. I have a lot of photos of the mountain but no recent route photos. I will let someone else add a page for Magog.

Re: Nice to see this here

I recently climbed Mount Magog again and have better photos now.

Here is the page for Magog

Star trek?

Wasn't Gog some Klingon food or thing or something from Star Trek? Interesting name nonetheless, thanks for posting.

Re: Star trek?

You're thinking of Gagh, which is live giant parasitic worms.

Gog is one of those biblical kings/ancestors/gods/nations that gets a couple of passing mentions in the Pentateuch, but since he's mentioned again in Revelations (and the qur'an too), people figure he's important.

Re: Star trek?

That Klingon website you linked to scares me. Those are some lonely people who sit and think that stuff up. (And I like Star Trek, but man....)

Isn't it Gark?

I always thought that's what the Klingon food was. I don't know though. When did you climb Gog? Just this past week? Great page you've made.....as usual!

Re: Isn't it Gark?

Thank you! I knew there would be a few questions about the name Gog. It does sound like something the Klingons would eat for dinner though. I climbed Gog on the last week in September of this year when the fall colors were still out.

Nice work!

Used to live in Logan and romp up there around Gog, Magog, UN9828, Doubletop, Cherry Peak and all that. Great area....

Re: Nice work!

Thank you! I’m glad that you like these mountains. Most of the people that hike and climb in the Bear River Range live near Logan. That area is far enough away that it stays quiet most of the time so I like it.
