This takes me back

I drove down to Anaconda probably 5-10 times when living in Montana in the summer of 2001. This view is on Hwy 1, right? There is one point where you have an incredible view of the mountains standing high above the road. Just astounding. If this is the view I am thinking of, then this was the view that inspired me to pursue mountain climbing as a lifelong passion. (Of course, there was less snow on the mountain when I was there from June-August 2001)

Lime?

Is that a lime pile on the left? I work up there and I just took some pictures of lime piles for work and one of them looks just like this photo! I think this is north of Highway 1, along the Galen road? or Warm Springs road?

Re: Lime?

Hey guys - the photo was taken on the Warm Springs road, just as you pass the State Hospital and are heading toward Anaconda. bthere - you called it. Along with the lime pile. Did not know what those were until now.

hgrapid - you need to get back out west man.

Coming back West

Montanaboy,

My new job allows me to get out West. I was in Utah in March. I am heading out to New Mexico and Arizona in two weeks. I am probably heading to Idaho in June or July. I will probably be in the Idaho Falls area. I may need a hiking partner to do Borah. I will probably struggle up there, but I really want to do it.
